Rick Warren builds bridge to Muslims - http://bit.ly/A1jBey
"...proposing a set of theological principles that
includes acknowledging that Christians and Muslims worship the same God."
This is where I challenge so-called "Christians"
to go back and read the 1st Commandment. Allah is a supposed "moon
god"; the One True Living God (Jesus) is God not a "type" of
god.
No, Warren, you got it wrong, again, with your Politically
Correct and totally incorrect gospel of sameness. We are called to preach the
Gospel of Jesus Christ in love, yes, but we are never called to tell someone
worshiping a false god that their false god is the same as the One True Living
God. I stand perplexed at such contradictory "reasoning".
‘”We agreed we wouldn't try to evangelize each other,’ said
Turk. ‘We'd witness to each other but it would be out of 'Love Thy Neighbor,'
not focused on conversion.’”
Evangelizing and witnessing are similar concepts.
“The ‘rumor is 100 percent false,’ Warren wrote at Pastors.com, a website he
founded that provides practical advice to church leaders. ‘My life and ministry
are built on the truth that Jesus is the only way, and our inerrant Bible is
our only true authority.’”
This very statement of Warrens
contradicts itself. If Jesus, as he purports to believe, is the “only way”,
then he’ll have to explain how Islam flatly denies Jesus’ deity and the concept
of redemption through one man (Jesus). He further shows his contradiction by
saying “our” inerrant Bible is “our” only true authority. In other words, Jesus
is the only way…if you just happen to be Christian, otherwise he’s not. Perhaps
Warren needs to
recap on John 3:16, since it plainly states that “God so loved THE WORLD…”.
Which means that God so loved the world that he sent His Son, Jesus, to die for
the WORLD, and the only way to be reconciled back to the Father is through His
Son; there IS NO OTHER WAY. (Acts 4:12)
“When Barakat discovered who Warren was, he invited his neighbor to learn
more about Islam. ‘I was talking to him over the fence,’ Barakat said. ‘I said,
'Rick, why don't you go to Syria
with me? He said, 'Sure, let's talk about it. Let's do it.’”
Sounds like proselytizing to me. But, I thought they agreed
not to do that? And, for those who wish to nitpick; proselytizing is to change
a persons opinion. How? By talking with them and inviting them to see what you
are all about. So, save your complaints.
“Gwynne Guibord, an ordained Episcopal priest and co-founder
of a Los Angeles
outreach group that fosters relationships between churches and mosques
nationwide, said Saddleback's effort is unprecedented. ‘I'm not aware of any
other evangelical church reaching out to the Muslim community,’ she said.”
Here’s one, if she’d bothered to look; http://www.muslimjourneytohope.com/
If Christians and Muslims “serve the same god”, then why did
these Muslims feel the need to get away from Islam? Same god, same faith, where
would they go? And, before you say that “Christians made them leave,” listen to
their stories. Many, if not all of them, felt something was amiss on their own
or after hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, NOT through forced conversions.
But, this probably isn’t the kind of “outreach” Guibord was
thinking of, anyway. No, the outreach that’s on her mind is the kind that makes
one feel comfortable about serving a false god, while dishing out a false sense
of salvation that will never come.
And, the whole notion of “comparing notes” on “similar
scriptures” is worthless. I can show how Islam and Christianity differ on vital
points. For example, Islam has no concept of salvation beyond the incessant
need to do good works to balance out one’s life until their death (you save
yourself…if you can). Christianity says works cannot save you, but trusting in
Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior will (God [Christ] saves you…because you can’t
save yourself).
And, the following is the most stunning of apostasy
statements, yet:
“’I think that many evangelicals feel a mandate to convert
people to Christianity,’ Guibord said. Because the Consultative Group was
founded to respond to increasing antagonism between the two faiths, ‘we would
not have made headway’ if one side was trying to convert the other, she said.
Now, she said, it might be possible to include evangelicals in her group's
work.”
Let me repeat the part you probably missed: “’I think that
many evangelicals feel a mandate to convert people to Christianity’”
Stunning.
But, where would we “evangelicals” get such a clumsy,
close-minded, un-diverse idea like that from anyhow? Oh, yeah…Jesus.
“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all
authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy
Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ~Matthew
28:18-20
Silly Jesus, didn’t he know that Gwynne Guibord knew best?
I stand flabbergasted at the apostate church.
And, there is tons more I can say about the glaring
differences between the One True Living God (Jesus) and the false god Allah,
but I don't feel like getting into it, as this post is too long as it is.
But, what I will say, Christian, is that Warren wants you to
believe that the same God that sent His Son to die for the world's sin to
reconcile fallen man back to Himself, is the same god who tells Muslims to do
this: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
(save that "Radical Islam" claptrap; Islam IS Islam)
Think that through, Christian.
The Message to the Church in Laodicea
“‘Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the
message from the one who is the Amen—the faithful and true witness, the
beginning of God’s new creation:’”
“‘I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor
cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm
water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, ‘I am
rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize
that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise
you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be
rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your
nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and
discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.’”
“’Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice
and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as
friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was
victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.’”
God help His church.
In Christ, for Christ,
